Accounting Manager

Job Site: New York, NY 10017

Duties:
– Generate and review financial statements, budgets, and monthly/annual reports. Generate financial projection.
– Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including client billing and collections.
– Ensure compliance with legal industry regulations, such as trust accounting rules for client funds.
– Manage Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) and ensure proper handling of client funds.
– Reconcile trust accounts and maintain accurate records to comply with state bar association rules.
– Develop and monitor budgets to control costs and improve profitability.
– Forecast and manage cash flow, ensuring the firm meets its financial obligations.
– Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate tax withholdings.
– Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local tax laws.
– Internal Controls & Compliance
– Implement internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
– Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), understand both accrual basis and cash basis and legal industry-specific accounting regulations.
– Manage legal- accounting software Caret.

Requirements:
– Master’s degree in Accounting;
– Two years of experience managing AR, AP, reimbursement, cash flow report, bank account reconciliation, depreciation internal cost analysis, monthly, quarterly and annually financial statement preparation, and annual auditing process.
– Knowledge of project budgeting, data analysis and forecasting models.

Hours: 40 hours per week, full-time
Salary: $97,406/yr.
